Today is Palm Sunday of the Passion of the Lord for the Christian and mostly for the Catholics in the whole world. It signals the start of the most Holy Week of holy weeks.

Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphant entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem.

But while the traditional celebration in early years involve people waving with fresh fronds of palm during the procession, the tradition has evolved into tolerance in the replacement of palms in areas where it is difficult to obtain. So now we have fresh young leaves of coconut trees, olive, available native trees, willow and yew.

Do not ask why Palm sunday in some countries has also evolved to be called, among others Yew Sunday, or Olive Sunday, or Yew Sunday or simply Branch Sunday.
